The Sport Management girls were in for a treat on the eve of Valentine's Day. An opportunity for book lovers to mingle with others inside and outside of the minor while snacking on delicious homemade valentine's inspired treats provided by Professor Sawyer.
The cost of entry was to bring a wrapped book of their choosing to engage in a white elephant-esque book exchange. Each gal was given a number that corresponded with their turn to select a new book from the pile or steal a book from someone else. The catch, however, was the book could only be stolen three times.
The selections commenced and every girl read aloud the synopsis of the book they selected, intriguing those who were idly waiting their turns. Snaps and claps followed as each gal described their new found book. While all the treats were sweet, the selection process at times was bitter.
A certain enemies-to-lovers book became a hot ticket for those who had the chance to steal. The book was only stolen once, but the popularity of the book increased the desire to steal it from the person who had it in their possession. Romances, thrillers, mysteries, and two Daisy Jones and the Six were amongst the pile of novels in the first ever Galentine's Book Exchange.
Alas, each lovely lady left the book exchange with a new, exciting read, a sugar rush, and a fun evening celebrating the love of books with those in the sport management minor.
