"You might not know everything but come in and we'll teach you," said Mike Brohard, RamWire Insider and assistant director of Colorado State's athletic communications department.
Brohard spearheaded a writing workshop at the CSU Sport Management Club's first meeting of the spring semester on Thursday, speaking to current and prospective members about various opportunities through CSU and RamWire.
Brohard provided a list of his top writing tips and explained how students could use them to improve their writing skills both inside and outside of the classroom.
His biggest piece of advice to students is to get involved; outside experience is essential to building a portfolio and one that stands out from other applicants.
Solely showcasing a degree and classwork won't be enough to set one apart, he explains. It's equally important to work in real-life situations and use that experience to further oneself in their future career.
In May, applications will open for positions in the Strategic Communications and Brand Enhancement department, where students learn new skills in a professional environment and narrow down their interests while gaining experience.
The Sport Management Club's first meeting of the semester further proved itself as a lucrative networking opportunity for those involved.
